EDU Checkup: William and Mary Edition
On March 23rd, Nick DeNardis of EDU Checkup posted his live video review of the new W&M website. DeNardis, whose goal is to turn everyday web developers into “rock-stars,” has reviewed hundreds of higher education websites through EDU Checkup and in his position as associate director of web and communications at Wayne State University.
Being on EDU Checkup was like getting a free usability test. It’s hard to know what your average Joe will think when happening upon the William & Mary website. When you’ve put hours and hours of hard work into a website, you lose the ability to see it as if you were seeing it for the first time. DeNardis, who has no connection to the W&M web team, provided us with great insight into what our visitors may think about our home page, links, text, etc.
